5. QA Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: What is the difference between V901-Q cleaner and make-up solvent?
A: V901-Q is a high-concentration MEK cleaning liquid with strong dissolving capacity, only used for flushing and removing dry ink. Make-up solvent (e.g. V705-D) is diluted formula for normal printer ink circulation and viscosity adjustment; they cannot be cross-used. Using make-up solvent for deep cleaning will fail to dissolve thick dry ink.
Q2: Can V901-Q clean non-Videojet third-party CIJ printers?
A: It is optimized for original Videojet 1000 series CIJ machines. For other brand printers, chemical compatibility of internal seals and plastic parts cannot be guaranteed; original brand dedicated cleaner is recommended.
Q3: How long is the shelf life after opening the bottle?
A: After unsealing, tightly cap the bottle and store away from fire sources. Best used within 6 months; prolonged open storage will cause solvent volatilization, reduce cleaning efficiency and produce impurities.
Q4: Is V901-Q safe to contact food packaging surfaces after cleaning?
A: V901-Q is industrial solvent cleaner, not food-grade. After cleaning printheads, fully evaporate all cleaner before restarting coding to avoid direct contact between residual solvent and edible product packaging.
Q5: What temperature environment is suitable for cleaning operation?
A: Ambient temperature 10°C–40°C is ideal. Below 10°C, solvent volatilization slows down and cleaning efficiency drops; above 45°C accelerates solvent loss and increases flammability risk. Keep away from open flames and static electricity during operation.
Q6: Can I mix V901-Q with other brand cleaners or ink solvents?
A: Strictly prohibited. Mixing different solvent formulas may trigger chemical reactions, produce precipitate, block pipelines and damage the entire printer ink system. Clean all residual liquid completely before switching any maintenance fluid.
Q7: How much V901-Q is consumed per regular cleaning?
A: Manual nozzle cleaning uses 5–10ml each time; full automatic pipeline deep cleaning consumes 30–50ml. One 950ml bottle supports 15–30 times of full machine maintenance for single production line equipment.
Q8: What safety PPE is required during operation?
A: Wear chemical-resistant nitrile gloves, ventilation mask and safety goggles. Operate in well-ventilated workshops; no smoking, welding or high-temperature heat sources nearby. Store separately from oxidants and flammable materials.
